CHOOSING THE PERFECT FONT

We see fonts all around us. Everywhere. Fonts are a regular part of our daily lives and each and every one conveys a message.

Sometimes the message is really obvious (I love the example on the right!), but oftentimes it’s much more subtle.

I personally believe when it comes to home decor, the most important thing to consider is whether or not it makes you smile. With that said, there is a reason why I have a collection of over 600 commercially licensed fonts. Every time I work on a project I find there are certain fonts that make a design really stand out. It could be the size of the letters, the actual letter combinations that are used or even just the font itself that gives a particular personality to a quote.

You’ll notice that I have several custom designs for you to choose from. These font combinations look great together and work well with the graphic elements they are paired with. If one of these designs stands out to you and works with your project, you-can’t-go-wrong. I recognize however, that there are thousands of ideas out there and many different potential combinations for every project. In the past, I’ve tried to present my customers with a complete list of font options. The challenge was that 600 different fonts (or even 30) was overwhelming and 10 was too restrictive. This is why I have you choose a basic font style (or you can upload a picture of a font you really love). It gives me an idea of the direction you want to go and then I work to find the font that will make your stencil amazing! The following images are the perfect example. Both use modern script fonts—the image on the left is probably my most requested font and one of my personal favorites, but the image on the right really gives this stencil the feel of “Sandy Toes & Salty Kisses,” don’t you agree?
